Watch This Blind Man Use Google’s New Self-Driving Car To Get Himself To Taco Bell

I can’t believe this. Now he did travel on monitored roads and with the help of the local police department and google engineers inside  the vehicle. If something were to go wrong the vehicle could be stopped immediately by a brake on the passenger side, emergency shut off on the center console, or by laptop. The car travels on it’s own for about a mile and a half flawlessly. I really hope that this is perfected but it would have to overcome some serious doubts and questions from governing bodies in order to allow blind people to drive unsupervised with these vehicles.

  1. I’m visually impaired and totally in agreement with trying new things… Not sure about this though!

Not sure if you knew but visually impaired people do drive in some states. Those people have a lot of vision though. Very few people with VI are totally blind. I use a cane but read normal sized print with glasses. Technology like this might be good for people like me who can see, just not enough, if you see what I mean?

I live in Asia though and would not drive even if I could see. Too crazy!
